Christmas Traditions | New York Family Photographer and Filmmaker
/Last month I was lucky enough to spend the morning with this lovely and fun family here in New York! This session was scheduled just before Christmas and after our phone consultation with the mom, it was decided that we’ll document their family’s traditions during the Holidays. The main priority of this session was their film, but I also captured some photographs for them.
As you can tell, the photographs captured during my family film + photos sessions have more of a documentary feel to it than my typical lifestyle family photography sessions. The reason behind it is that once we’ve discussed what was important for this family to capture during our phone consultation, I pretty much go with what is happening on the day. During my lifestyle photography sessions, I guide my families so I have more ‘control’ over what’s happening and how the images will ‘look’. How it will feel will vary every time, as each family is different! That’s the beauty of lifestyle.
